Who am I?

Ed Oxley – Mountain Bike Skills & Guiding

I am SMBLA trained as a Mountain Bike Leader and qualified as a Trail Cycle Leader as well as being CTC trained as a  Technical Leader. I hold a current Outdoor First Aid certificate and I take my own continual professional development seriously and have advanced skills coaching and ongoing training for myself.

I’m often seen in Singletrack mountain bike magazine, as a contributor and bike and equipment tester. I’m proud to have won the award for writing the best feature for Singletrack Magazine for 2009 as voted for by the readers. I am a development rider for Ragley Bikes, the hardcore bike brand from Calderdale. As you can imagine I love and live bikes and am usually out there riding them most of the time.

Testimonials

“I’ve known Ed about a year, and in that time he’s managed to completely turn my head around with regards bike design and setup, and has got me riding stuff I never thought possible.” – Brant Richards – Shedfire Design Group and Ragley Bikes (formerly of On-One)

What’s on offer?

I run open group skills days which are all listed in the tabs above. ‘Stop Crashing’ is the course for getting the mountain bike fundamentals. It’s appropriate for those fairly new to mountain biking, or for those who’ve been riding for some time who want to recap and tweak their skills. ‘The Flow’ course is more advanced, you could say intermediate level. It’s all about fine tuning the basic skills and moving onto more advanced skills like fast cornering and drop offs. Occasionally I run more advanced courses along side special guest instructors like the courses I run with Nigel Page.

All courses can be run as private days for individuals or groups.

Cost for a place on an open group day is £60 per person. A one to one day costs £180 on a week day or £240 on a Saturday or Sunday. Private group days cost a minimum of £180 on a week day  or £240 on a Saturday or Sunday. If there are more than 3 people just add £60 per person.
