TESTIMONIALS
Here is some of the feedback that people have sent in after riding on Great Rock days.

“The best money I’ve spent on a mountain bike was learning to ride it properly. By the end of the morning I was riding stuff properly that I would previously have balked at. Highly recommended.” Gordon
“I felt boosted and confident enough to ride a drop-off that was definitely on the rad side of awesomeness.” Dave Haygarth, who writes up the skills day that he came on with a bunch of his mates, here in his blog www.minellium.com

“I went up to Lee Quarry on Sunday for a days skills training with Ed and can’t recommend him enough! Great teacher.. very patient.. and highly knowledgeable. I went to fine tune my riding and build confidence in my own ability a little more rather than learn new things… and ended up riding smoother and faster on tricky sections than I thought possible.. as well as riding a few sections I would have otherwise not ridden.. Lee Quarry is a fantastic place to ride too..” Ian

“Just a quick message to say thanks for a great day in Hebden Bridge. I learned loads and feel much more confident and ready to ride the trails with a lot more control.” Matt

“The course was great, you have changed the way I ride quite considerably. I am looking ahead, moving my hips, letting the bike move fluidly underneath me and generally riding with more confidence. There are steps near my house that I have ridden down for years and it has always been hit and miss as to whether I’ll make it, whereas now I just ride down them smoothly and in control. You are an inspirational instructor and I have and will be recommending you to everyone I know.” Jonty

“Ed really is great I think I learned more in one day and improved my riding more than I have in the past fifteen years. I’m actually looking forward to rocky trails now rather than just bricking it. Magic can’t reccomend it highly enough.” Raoul

The Mrs and I did a day at Lee Quarry and we both feel that our riding improved during the course and will continue to improve into the future as we work on the techniques taught on the day. Ed’s a great instructor and was more than happy to adjust the day to fit in with what we wanted to work on.
All told we’d recommend it to anyone and will definately be going back at some point in the future

Thanks for a great day at Gisburn. The Stop Crashing course does what it says on the, er, tin! Ed’s style is relaxed yet definite. There is no doubt about the advice he gives and after a few practice runs we could all feel the benefit of the ‘tweaks’ he applied to our riding (in my case this was overcoming 30-odd years of bike riding habits!).
Thanks Ed – look forward to the next few weeks of putting this into practice and leaving my mates wobbling and braking into corners as I smoothly cruise round the gnarliest berms.

Hi Ed,
Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed the course on Friday.
I was racing at the Midlands XC Round 2 on Sunday and I was able to use a lot of the things we practised. There was a complicated series of bomb holes that I treated as a pump-track and some tricky fast corners where I was able to lean the bike and get a bit of extra traction.
Most useful (and I’m sure you won’t be surprised about this) was weighting and un-weighting the bike to take the sting out of the uneven sections. I was able to go faster, ride more smoothly and with more control.
Proof of the pudding is in the eating and I was 41st in round one, and 28th in round 2 – all down to your course
Thanks again.
Derek.
P.S. I also ditched the gear indicators and moved my brakes inside the shifters. I’m now sold on the the one finger braking technique. Even on the steepest downhill section I had enough braking power to lock the wheels if I wanted, but now I have enough control to steer properly too.
