This is a mountain biking weekend package of accommodation, skills training and guided riding. We will be based at the excellent Dog & Partridge, which has been developed as a top venue by the mountain biking landlord Tim Gridley and his wife Grace. Situated right on the trails, the Dog &Partridge has top quality accommodation, a lovely bar/cafe with local ale and great food (mountain biker sized portions!), Whelpstone Bike Shop, free bike wash & secure bike storage and the warmest bike friendly welcome you could hope for. Gisburn Forest is where the Yorkshire Dales meet the Lancashire Dales and the natural trails also join up with the famous forest trail centre riding. Over the weekend we will be making the most of what the area has to offer.
Dog & Partridge
Friday evening will be a night ride, mixing up a local knowledge route of trail centre and natural trails. As with any good night ride we will end up back at the pub for a pint. Lights will be available to hire if you don’t have your own.

Saturday will be a skills day on the Gisburn Forest man made trails. There is excellent singletrack, berms and rocky sections, all built to test the rider. It’s an ideal venue for skills training and Ed uses these trails for his ‘Stop Crashing’ and ‘Flow’ courses. This skills day will be a mixture of the two courses which will cater for different levels of riders. We will have more than one bike instructor and we will be able to work in separate groups as well as all together, depending on the trail features people want to ride and the skill levels among the group.

Sunday will be a guided ride on natural trails in the local area. There is a lot more to explore in this area in addition to the famous man made trails. You just need a bit of local knowledge to find it. We have the knowledge and will supply the packed lunch for a day of real mountain biking! It will be possible to have a shower and get changed after the ride back at the D&P.

Cost is £237 for bed and breakfast accommodation on Friday and Saturday nights, Friday’s guided night ride, Saturday’s skills training and Sunday’s guided day ride including packed lunch. Booking can be made by payment of a non returnable deposit of £60 with the rest payable in the week leading up to the weekend. The rooms at the Dog & Partridge are as follows: 3 twin rooms, a family room which can sleep up to 5, the King room with 3 single beds and 1 double room.
